Nana's Park!

Part of the summer fun with six little grandchildren was right in our own backyard! Anna named it "Nana's Park!"
Angela & Jamie's children were full of energy and spirit. Every morning a mad dash was made to the backyard to see who could get to the swings first. Well, this posed a problem... there were only three swings, but "four" little girls who wanted to swing. Tears and more tears! The older ones said, "You can have the swing when you count to sixty!" Tears and more tears! Counting to "60" can be very hard when you are only 4 and upset to begin with! Usually an intervention by Nana or one of their mothers seemed to help and a couple of them decided to go down the slide or swing on the tire swing, or just forget it all together. This summer we planted pumpkins, squash, corn, carrots, peas, cabbage, tomatoes, etc! Anna (5), Brooklyn (4), Paige (4), Ellie (6), and Emma Jane (almost 2)! One of Paige's goals was to learn how to "pump" her own legs and swing sooooooo high! This swing set was purchased last summer for $200 at a garage sale. We sanded and painted it and believe me, it was the best investment we've made in a long time! My project for honey next summer is to install an outdoor drinking fountain! Less cups and more outside play time! We tried to go out in the evenings and enjoy the cool air and we even made "smoores" as often as possible!! Is he the best Papa in the world or what? These little ones had a ball!
